FREE ACCOUNT PROS & CONS

Pros:

• Helps gain subscribers early and build your following while you are new
• Obviously if your account is free it will be a lot easier to get subscribers.
• It gives fans a chance to see what kind of content and services you are offering without having to pay.
• Get familiar with the functionality of OnlyFans platform There will be a small learning curve when you start using OnlyFans.
• A free account allows you to make mistakes and learn how to make posts, stories, and highlights.
• Its a good way to test out all the options in your account.
• You will still have ways to earn even though your account is free, that doesn’t mean you still can’t earn money from your subscribers.
• You still have the option of getting tips, offering paid custom content, paid private messages, premium locked content, etc.
• Helps to build your likes, which will validate your presence
• When you have free subscribers they are more likely to click “like” on your posts. This is good because at the top of your profile, you have the option to show how many people subscribe to your page and how many likes your content has received. Fans will be more willing to subscribe to your page if they see that you have a lot of content, followers, and if your content has a lot of likes. Its a way to build “social proof”

Cons:

• You will get a lot of freeloaders who will never spend a dime
• By having a free account there will be a portion of your subscribers who are freeloaders and won’t ever pay you a dime. This is something that pisses off many models. These freeloaders are also the kind of people who will try to waste your time. Sending you messages, bothering you, and so on. As an OnlyFans model you will have to learn to manage your time. Wasting your time interacting with a person who has no intentions to ever pay you for your services or content, is simply that, a waste of time.
• If you decide to switch over to a paid subscription models you could lose followers
• If you start out with a free account it can be off-putting to some of your fans if you decide to change it over to a paid subscription account. There are ways to make this transition easier on your loyal fans, but I will save those methods for another article. Just be aware that most people don’t like change, and if you decide to switch things over later you could lose some of your fans.

PAID SUBSCRIPTION ACCOUNT

Pros:

• You get to set yourself up to have steady income
• When you build a solid fan base who are willing to pay you a monthly subscription fee it will motivate you to keep creating content. It can be very frustrating when you are sharing content and not making any money from it.
• You don’t have to deal with “freeloaders” As I mentioned above, freeloaders are a thing and they will begin to piss you off sooner or later. By having a Paid Subscription Account you will be weeding out freeloaders from day one, which in turn will preserve your sanity.
• Easier to control your content When all your content is behind a pay wall its just easier to control. If you are using the “free subscription” method you will have to divide your content into what is teaser (free) content and what is premium (paid) content. If your entire account can only be accessed by paying subscribers then you don’t have to think about sorting it.
• Offer free trials Free trials are extremely powerful. Everyone wants to get something for free. By setting your account up behind a pay wall but offering new fans a free peek into what you offer, they feel like they are getting a deal. I recommend to everyone who is running a paid subscription account to offer free trials. Its the one way you can hook a fan and allow them to see what they will eventually have to pay for.

Cons:

• Harder to build your following
• You will soon learn how difficult it can be to get fans. This is just a reality of the OnlyFans game. It is even harder to do when your entire profile is locked and no one can see what you look like and what you are offering. This is the number one reason why I suggest anyone running a paid account must offer free subscriptions.
• Harder to establish your presence with “likes” As mentioned above, you will need to get some “social proof” in order to be successful on OnlyFans. If you don’t know what social proof is, it’s basically a way for new fans to realize that your account is worth following. People are creatures of habit and they like to see that others are enjoying your content. This is validated by them seeing that you have a lot of likes on your posts. A fan will be more willing to subscribe to your page if it has a few thousands likes then if it has 10 likes.
• Gaining these likes is going to be difficult if you don’t have a lot of subscribers.
